AMARA CAY RESORT

Situated on a seven-acre site, the hotel renovation will include a new lagoon swimming pool with cabanas and an outdoor dining area centered around a water garden with aquatic plants and fish. Existing specimen Gumbo Limbo Trees and Coconut Palms will be strategically relocated on-site creating an established canopy layer that provides shade while framing views toward the Atlantic Ocean Horizon. Coral Stone boulders and monoliths, excavated during construction, will be arranged in a series of retaining walls to regulate and express topographic changes throughout the property. The reconfiguration of existing parking areas introduced local crushed coral stone to increase the site permeability by fifty-percent to meet code requirements while significantly reducing overall site engineering cost. Along the highway, a five-hundred and twenty foot long swath of Coastal Muhly Grass will become vibrant pink throughout late summer into early fall.
